JUDGES’ COMMENTS

“If you are going to explore the graphic potential of a building facade, then don’t chicken out half way. Be bold, or don’t bother.”

“Many of the entrants seemed to lack a basic understanding of the subject matter they were attempting to capture. The first question to ask yourself is, ‘Why am I taking this picture?’ The second question is then of course, ‘Am I succeeding?’ Being fiercely critical of your own work is the only way to move it forward.”

“There weren’t many striking photographs honestly describing the form of the whole structure, the environment it sits in, or the spaces it encloses - all of which you need to be good at to win commissions from designers and builders.”
