Alice Mariette’s entry in Australasia’s Top Emerging Photographers 2020, Exploring, is a featured portfolio, and appears in the Portrait category.
"I love photographing my children, and I love doing so in candid, non-traditional ways', Mariette says. "The images here are of my eldest son, who is four. They are part of an ongoing series of shadow shots, mainly of him, but also of my other children, and my husband and I. I love how, without him actually appearing in the images, he is so strongly there."
Australasia's Top Emerging Photographers is the region's main platform for discovering and showcasing photographers at the outset of their careers. The competition is open to emerging, student, and amateur photographers.
Entries are now open, with standard pricing extending until 31 January, 11:59pm (AEDT).
