Chris Wood-Willems, Waterscape Void (ART 2026)

In these images, the ocean becomes a vessel for the interconnectedness and play of the elements - earth, water, fire, wind, and ‘void’. The waves create marks that could be the script of a forgotten language, asemic writing of memory - never fully legible. The distant lights are fragile imprints of human presence, their linear geometry briefly disrupting the horizon. In the tension between curves and straight lines, time folds into itself, and what is remembered is not seen but felt, an intangible trace of moments passed, ungraspable yet ever present. It is in the spaces between, the void, where all things arise and dissolve, that meaning is shaped—not in permanence, but in the constant flux, the perpetual becoming.
