yuting zhang, Water Birds (ANIMAL 2025)
A quiet moment by the water reveals the intricate lives of its feathered residents. A lone heron stands poised on the rocks, its reflection merging with the rippling tide. Nearby, a group of seagulls gather, resting and preening as they share the rhythm of the shore. Deeper in the wetlands, a bird perches on a lone stump, surveying the stillness of the mangroves. Through these images, I explore the subtle interplay between solitude and community, movement and stillness—where water shapes the land, and the birds shape the silence.
