Louise Faulkner, Under the Lake (LANDSCAPE 2021)
These images of Lake Pedder are about loss and speak to issues of climate change and extinction. Lake Pedder is man-made, created through the inundation of Lake Pedder National Park in the 1970s as part of Tasmania's Hydro Electric Scheme. At the time, hundreds protested and visited the area to experience its unique flora, fauna and ecological beauty before the Park was flooded. There is a sad beauty to this submerged landscape - glimpses of what might have been.
