Jodie Petersen, Three Stages of the Golden Hour (LANDSCAPE 2021)

I usually shoot black and white, so have decided to challenge myself with colour. As the name suggests, these three were all taken in various stages of the golden hour at dusk, in my home town of Hamley Bridge in South Australia’s Mid North. I really love a stark and empty looking landscape, or everyday objects in a landscape (like the fencepost!). I try to bring out the beauty in what might be considered “plain” - I personally don’t find barley fields, fenceposts, and scraggly trees (that look that way after a major fire five years ago) to be plain, so my aim is to have the world see them the way I do...this time in colour (scary for me!).
