Annette Kirby, The Wildebeest Migration (Doco/Photojournalism (2018))
Observing the annual wildebeest migration is an awe inspiring experience witness by very few people. Being in Kenya or Tanzania at the right moment is truly amazing. The 1000's of wildebeest gather on the banks of the river, then go back and feed, then return to the river and without any warning or fanfare a couple rush to the bank. The rush is on. Beasts jump down steep cliffs, fall over each other, tumble into the water, swim against the river current and if lucky they reach the other side. To exit the river they scramble over the rocks and up the steep cliffs. As they reach the top of the bank they race and jump with joy as they gallop to the new pasture.
