Jason Harris, The great escape (SINGLE SHOT 2026)

My local lake is thriving with activity during Spring and early Summer. Not only is breeding season in full swing, you also see territorial battles take place. On this occasion, the Hardhead Ducks were with their offspring but little did they know that floating underneath the water was a little Australian Grebe who was swimming underwater preparing to deliver a short and sharp nip. This shot represents the exact moment when the Hardhead feels the sting and gets ready to depart and move to another location.
