Noel Manikkam, The Gaze: A silent and universal language (ANIMAL 2025)

These images capture three unrelated species, a lion, a mountain gorilla and a red-faced monkey which through their gaze weave a tapestry of engagement. Their gazes are intense and appear to engage one on a profoundly human level. It is as if their eyes hold a quiet understanding, inviting us to recognize their sentience. In their unified gaze, we find a reflection of our own existence, a primal reminder of the shared awareness that connects all living beings.
