In the arthropod's microcosm, every species' means of subsistence are intertwined. One's food is another's habitat; one's remains are the other's food. Nature feeds on itself. Hideousness and beauty are two links of the same chain, and only through a human lens do we perceive the variety of animal behaviors to be anything other than an amoral unity.
