Renee Doyle, The Beauty of the Bears (Travel (2018))
I was fortunate enough to spend 4 days with these amazing Coastal Brown Bears in Lake Clarke National Park, Alaska. This area seems to be a safe haven for the Sow to bring her Cubs out to teach them all the necessary skills required to keep them safe. They will learn how to climb, swim, and dig for clams on the low tide. During the period of June and July the Sow feels quite safe here with her Cubs but as the Salmon start to run and the Boars move into the area to feed on the fish, she will move on and find another safe haven for her young. The interaction and tenderness that is displayed with these families creates magical moments to witness and capture. Being able to spend time with these magnificent Bears in their natural and unspoilt habitat is an experience I will always treasure.
