Caitlin Adams, The Amazing World of Greylag Geese (Anser Anser) and Beyond (ANIMALS 2026)
During a four month fieldwork hiatus I volunteered documenting the behaviour of Greylag Geese in Upper Austria, at the same location Imprinting Theory was tested by Konrad Lorenz. After watching the amazing world of Greylag Geese: the personalities, social dynamics and behaviour I became more and more intrigued in the behaviours of other birds around me. The Blue Tit and Mallards were also frequently observed in the field. The Mallards would often compete for food with the geese (pictured in feeding tray).
