Yi Cao, Territorial Disputes (ANIMALS 2026)

When I was taking bird photos, from time to time I witnessed territorial disputes happened when one bird defended an area that another bird attempted to enter or claim. They fought over perches, as perches could provide an unobstructed, elevated view for hunting insects while offering a secure location for energy-saving rest. This kind of drama can be more be interesting to photograph when one bird is guarding its territory when a bird of a different species try to enter the same territory (like what my third image shows).
