Ste Everington, Take a closer look (ANIMAL 2022)
At a site that usually draws larger marine life, sharks and turtles, these three little guys are often easily missed. The surge can make this site a little tricky for macro photography, but with patience and the right timing between the surges, it's possible to photograph some of the cutest little creatures in the ocean. The tiny yellow boxfish (Ostracion cubicum) was sheltering under a rock, the nudibranch (Bornella anguilla) had just been swept away in the current, and the ornate ghost pipefish (Solenostomus paradoxus) was gracefully swaying back and forth in the surge.
