Jess Nicole, Sunset Silhouettes (SHOT ON FILM 2026)
Each night at Seacliff Beach in South Australia the sky puts on a show. The golden hues spill onto soft waters where silhouettes of paddle boarders float. The atmosphere always feels serene: the day is saying goodbye and everyone is winding down. There is a reason sunsets are photographed and depicted so often across art - they are one of the few kinds of images that feel universally emotional. They are something we can all connect to, regardless of where or who we are in the world. There is a sense of nostalgia, childhood memories, and an appreciation for the natural beauty that fades and renews day after day. Shot on Film Washi X, this maskless 35mm colour film produces warm-toned photographs with a vintage feel which highlights this sentiment.
