Tina Nisanyan, Stages of Self - Freefall to Hope (PEOPLE 2026)

These are 3 self portraits taken with a remote in my home studio. First image depicts an uncertain stage of my life, which felt like freefall, after loosing a loved one and questioning everything else in my life. The expression is empty and helpless, but still composed. The second picture portrays finding my passion in photography, however it is only a small glimmer of hope. While I haven’t quite turned towards it, it brings me out of freefall. In the third picture I have almost fully turned towards that hope…and while nothing is certain,I choose to follow that hope, because that hope makes my heart sing and my eyes light up.
