Will Lawler, South Georgia and Antarctica (Travel 2020)

These images depict what it was like to travel to South Georgia and Antarctica on a 23 day expedition. The landscapes and wildlife of these extremely remote locations varied greatly. In these environments the indomitable red expedition jacks appeared very out of place. They brought into sharp focus (see what I did there?) two things: 1 - how we don’t belong in these environments and can only survive for short periods with highly technical clothing; and 2 - how easily it would be for us to irrevocably impact these delicately balanced habitats and ecosystems.
