Miranda Kremers, Seeing Double (Student (2018))

to see two of every object through inability to focus the eyes In this series the artist is presenting the interior struggle that twins can feel when establishing their unique identity and presenting it to the world. It challenges society’s assumed connection between twins, illustrating the disconnection that can occur as each twin becomes a person in their own right.   The disinterested appearance of each twin - when looking away or staring ahead -references this individuality, whereas the physical contact - touch or holding each other - alludes to their physical and emotional connection which developed within the womb.
