Jake Wilton, Sand Stalkers (ANIMAL 2021)

The shallow sandy lagoons of the Ningaloo Reef are frequently visited by predatory sharks and rays searching for their next meal. Animals such as the Guitarfish, Leopard shark & Tiger Shark are just a few of the regular hunters visiting the sandy habitats. These images were captured over a period of 2 years of visiting the lagoons almost every day in search of the perfect animals that were comfortable with my presence in the water. Early morning sun, bottom composition and slightly overcast days were essential in creating an even natural light in such shallow waters. Taken using natural light while free diving on a single breath.
