Jayden O'Neill, Returning home (SINGLE SHOT 2022)
As the thermometer drops below 35 Celsius, and the sun begins to lower behind the distant wetland horizon, the last colourful rays guide the way for thousands of Magpie Geese who return to rest for the night. Towards the end of the dry season in Kakadu national park, as the water begins to dry, the Magpie Geese begin to congregate from around the park to the Mamukala Wetlands. When the dry ends and the skies begin to open, they will spread back out around the park to the surrounding wetlands. Seeing this landscape come alive with colour as thousands of these birds move about at sunrise and sunset is truly spectacular. This image was captured at sunset with a Sony A73, 200-600mm.
