Caleb Williams, People Who Belong in Paintings (Student)
This studio portrait set was inspired by the notion that everyday people deserve the ennobling treatment bestowed by renaissance composition and lighting techniques. The project began with people I knew being matched to portraits by Van Eyck, Durer, Vermeer and others, I then had to convince them to become their 'painted counterparts', happily most of them agreed.
