Stephen Laurence, Overcast (LANDSCAPE 2021)

‘Overcast’ Like many avid landscape/seascape photographer I frequently wake up at 4:30 on cold mornings hoping for those amazing sunrise hues in the sky … but this isn’t always the case. Not to miss an opportunity, and the temptation to crawl back into bed, I would still shoot the scene as I find that these overcast, grey skies reflecting steely-blue sea images now make it to the top of my favourites list. The simplicity, and stripping back of the colours allows my subjects to emerge in an eerie atmosphere.
