Francesca Donnoli, Open (Portrait 2020)

This series of portraits explores people in their work environments and the property and objects they use and stand in front of daily - almost as guards. From a basketball court administrator in Venice Beach, a convenience store owner in Tennessee who still uses paper and a pencil to tally up groceries & a barber who has owned his own shop in Mississippi since the 1960s. These people all grew up in the area they work in and are each in positions that help bring their community together.
