Michelle Vollemaere, Moria Gate Arch (LANDSCAPE 2025)
Sub titles: Moria Entrance, Moria Exit, Moria Arch Interior. Moria Gate Arch in the Kahurangi National Park is one of a series of limestone tunnels formed by the tea-coloured Oparara River, which runs through the cave. Moria Gate Arch is 19m high and 43 m wide and the ceiling is covered with stalactites and hanging roots. Given the remote location and difficult access to the Moria, it is rare to sight a photographer, but sometimes you get lucky and find a pair of them.
