Kelvin Baggs, Many Faces of the Red Centre (TRAVEL 2026)
The Red Centre reveals many faces: Uluru stands brooding beneath heavy, unsettled skies, its deep red surface intensified by bad weather and muted light. From the air, Kata Tjuṯa stretches endlessly across the desert, its vast domes and folds fully revealed from a helicopter, emphasising the scale and isolation of the land. Cutting through it all, the long highway to Darwin slices across the vivid red earth, a thin ribbon of grey emphasising the immense, raw openness of Australia’s heart.
