Sharon Haasbroek, Majestic Gallop (SINGLE SHOT 2026)

This was an early morning shoot of about 250 horses crossing a stream. I decided to crop in on this horse as it stood out from the mostly brown horses. I was sitting down for this capture, resulting in an intense, vulnerable feeling of being overpowered by this big majestic animal. Looking back on this image, I can still hear the dull thud of the hooves landing on the sand beside me.
