Jason Harris, Love is in the air (SINGLE SHOT 2026)

Words can’t really express how much I love Black Cockatoos. Of all the birds I photograph, this species are my personal favourite. I think it stems from the fact that they were a very helpful photographic subject when I first got the camera and I was able to strike up a rapport with them in many respects. Add to the fact that the status of all three Black Cockatoo species in Western Australia is under considerable threat and you just want to do all you can to make their lives a lot more comfortable. In this image is a Male Carnaby Black Cockatoo (pink eye-rings) is showing affection to its female partner. What made this shot personally special was that it was on the verge of Spring and after a wet winter, the plants were starting to bloom and it just had a real joyful feel as shown by their facial expression.
