James Russell, It's in our eyes. (PORTRAIT 2022)

'It's in my eyes' began as an idea during home isolation due to Covid 19. Our world had suddenly changed so significantly and it made me keenly aware that life is impermanent and our personal and collective circumstances can change in an instant. These thoughts prompted me to work on capturing simple stripped back portraits of everyday people as they are at this moment in time. Each portrait features a strong focus on the subject's eyes in an attempt to share some of their life's journey and who they are through their gaze.
