Noel Manikkam, Inside the world of an Endangered Species – the Mountain Gorilla (ANIMAL 2025)

There are only about a thousand mountain gorillas in the wilds. Being in the presence of these gentle giants was profoundly moving. Their quiet acceptance made us feel so welcome, bridging the gap between their world and ours in a way I will never forget. The first image captures the very first moment I came face to face with a Silverback leader. It was the most amazing experience. Immediately, I felt both vulnerable but profoundly connected to his world. The second image captures three gorillas resting and foraging together, a scene of serene coexistence that reflects the bond within their family. The third image captures a pair in an intimate moment, a poignant reminder of the natural cycle that ensures the survival of these majestic creatures.
