Two old friends take up space in front of a closed building. Strangers pass by each other on the way to new places. Morning light on a well-worn path. Stairs are a functional part of a city's infrastructure, but tell you a lot about the place. Decades of footsteps wearing down hard stone, leaving scant evidence of lives lived and people remembered and forgotten.
