Alan Zhao, God’s Palette (LANDSCAPE 2021)
This is a series of pictures taken at Hutt Lagoon located in Coral Coast near Port Gregory in Western Australia. The aerial pictures show the amazing natural colours and textures of salt and algae mixed together as if god has lost her eyeshadow palette on earth. Hutt Lagoon appears in pink hue because it contains the world's largest microalgae production plant, a 250-hectare series of artificial ponds used to farm Dunaliella salina, a source of ß-carotene which is a food-colouring agent and source of vitamin A.
