Darren Patterson, From Back Beach to the Port Hills (OPEN 2021)

A mixture of long and multiple exposures show the dramatic movement of vehicles traveling along these winding roads at the end of a long day. The Port Hills are above Christchurch NZ and this road winds over the hill to Governors Bay. Back Beach is in New Plymouth NZ and this road runs parallel to it allowing the locals access to beach. Once the sun sets they all head home. The Kyaiktiyo Pagoda or Golden Rock is a holy Buddhist Shrine in Myanmar. The rock is precariously balanced and covered by pilgrims in gold leaf. The rock sits atop a mountain and looks out over rolling forest hills. An inspirational place to watch the sun go down.
