ingrid Kuster, Fishing (ANIMALS 2026)

We were on a boat exploring a river in the Tortuguero National Park, Costa Rica when we came across a cormorant doing battle with a fish that it had just caught. The fish put up a mighty fight and managed to thrash its way free of the cormorant's beak on three occasions, only to be immediately recpatured each time. After what seemed an enormement amount of time, the cormorant finally succeeded in swallowing the fish. Everyone on the boat cheered and clapped the cormorant's success.
