Nicolas REMY, Fear of the dark (SINGLE SHOT 2022)

This moray eel had an irregular pupil on its left eye (while the right eye was normally dilated), giving it a more intimidating look when photographed from that side, and I used a single snooted strobe to accentuate the dramatic feel of this portrait. I am unsure if its eye was the result of a trauma or birth defect, but this adult individual seemed healthy otherwise. Photograph taken near the jetty of Clifton Gardens (Sydney, NSW).
