Wadi Rum is a vast desert valley in southern Jordan. Well known for its dramatic red coloured sandstone mountains many with ancient rock carvings and narrow canyons which provide shelter to the Bedouin tribes and prolific wildlife incl camels, goats and the Arabian oryx during intense summers.
