Kevin Palmer, Despair of a Vine Cane (SINGLE SHOT 2026)
How is it that an image of a simple thing can seemingly convey so much more. I was looking back at a small selection from an early morning shoot and this image of a vine cane struck hard in that moment. I could not help but feel that even when surrounded by light, it is hard to express the depth and feeling of loss or absence of hope there can be. Of the struggles of circumstances we can allow ourselves to be a captive of or to be tormented by. Wishing you could say more or be more than you are, yet feel you will be so isolated if you try. And so there you stay entangled in despair.
