Ben Burton, Dance in the Deep (SINGLE SHOT 2026)

In the depths of the Tonga trench a Humpback mother and calf emerged twisting and spiralling around each other, approaching with a mix of power and grace until they bank onto their sides to check us out for themselves. There a few encounters that can live up to the curiosity of a Humpback Whale, their behaviour begs the question of if they are playing or are they trying to communicate, to connect?
