Glenda Gore, Community Connection (ART 2026)
It began as a question of how to make Kalgoorlie, the mining town, look beautiful. After spending a few nights there, I felt compelled to reimagine the town through my own lens. Kalgoorlie can be hot, dusty, dry, and undeniably remote, yet something about its atmosphere stayed with me. Using a soft pastel palette, combined with ICM and multiple exposures, I set out to transform these impressions into something more. The three sites photographed connect the community and include the mine site, the local theatre and the local watering hole. This small portfolio of three images is the result of that transformation becoming my reality.
