Michelle Taylor-Holmes, Children of Akha Village (PEOPLE 2025)

During my second trip overseas, I visited the Akha Village in Northern Thailand, home to the long-necked tribe of refugees. The community sustains itself by selling handcrafted goods to tourists. The children, eager to engage, posed proudly at their vibrant, colorful stalls. I even joined in the spirit of the village, dancing a traditional gig and trying on a neck ring to experience their unique culture firsthand.
