Lesley Bretherton, Botanica Obscura (ART 2026)

Photographing in natural light on a light pad reveals fine textures, lending subjects, in this case poppies a soft, ethereal quality. The resulting photographs, often reminiscent of watercolour paintings, merge artistic vision with technical precision. I seek to uncover quiet beauty in what is fleeting, sometimes overlooked, and often imperfect — moments that, like the poppies themselves, are destined to fade.
