Lisa Skelton, Black-browed Albatross (ANIMALS 2026)

In December, I was privileged to visit Steeple Jason, in the Falkland Islands; home to the world's largest breeding colony of Black-browed Albatross. These incredible birds engage in elaborate courtship rituals to attract and maintain a mate. During this time, I observed intimate moments between dedicated pairs, an awkward moment when a male attempted to cut in on a courting pair and incredible displays of grace and precision when the animals took flight.
