Jeanete Zanotto, Bird's Eye View (Travel (ATEP 2017))

This series celebrates one of Australia’s most iconic destinations, the beach. Identified in the national Tourism 2020 strategy as the attraction with most appeal to inbound tourists, the beach encapsulates the Aussie experience with its open space, beauty, nature and relaxation. On a sunny Sunday I travelled to Surfers Paradise to see how people engage with it. Viewed from above, the spatial relationships are revealing and the long afternoon shadows contribute to the shape, pattern and rhythm of a day at the beach.
