Sneaker Studio: A customisation pop-up with Fujifilm and Converse

Here at Capture, we attend a wide variety of industry events, from photobook and exhibition openings, to new camera reveals. To stand out from the crowd, camera and PR companies have become increasingly experimental with their launch strategies.

Tapping into the trend of fashion customisation, Fujifilm has introduced a novel concept: a competition for those in the Melbourne area to win a pair of custom sneakers and test-drive the new Fujifilm . This camera is already drawing comparisons to the popular Fujifilm , but with the key advantage of an interchangeable lens system.

This exclusive one-day event lets guests design and print their favourite photos – from selfies, to landscape or more abstract images – directly onto a fresh pair of Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars. 

The event is happening on Saturday, August 30, at the Converse flagship store in Chadstone Shopping Centre, Melbourne, and is open to selected guests only.

Entry Period: Submissions are open from August 07 2025, to August 21 2025

How to Enter:

  1. Fill out the form with your shoe size.

  2. In 25 words or less, tell Fujifilm how you would customise your dream sneakers, inspired by your favourite photo.

  3. Entries will be judged on creativity, with bonus points for drawing inspiration from the new Fujifilm X-E5. For ideas, check out the Fujifilm X-E5 custom sneakers.

If you're selected, you'll be invited to a Customisation Consultation on Saturday, August 30. You'll get to work with renowned 'sneaker atelier' Chase Shiel to bring your vision to life, and you'll also have a chance to test out the new Fujifilm X-E5 in-store.

From there, Fujifilm and Converse will work their magic to create your personalised pair of sneakers for free.

If you are selected for the Sneaker Studio, your consultation will include:

  • 1 pair of customised Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars

  • Customisation options including: Shoelace colour, DTG printing, heat press and patches, eyelets and aglets, embroidery, insoles with your own photos/images, painting, and vinyl lettering on the shoe upper.
