Not wanting to be left out of the retro camera revival, and probably eyeing up the runaway success of the Fujifilm X100F, Panasonic has announced its latest contender – the LUMIX L10.
Marking the 25th anniversary of the LUMIX brand, this new fixed-lens camera is designed to blend classic aesthetics with straightforward, everyday usability.
The L10 features a premium metal exterior, a magnesium alloy front case, and a classic saffiano leather-textured finish. Weighing just 508 grams, it is built for one-handed operation and everyday carry. The camera will be available in black, silver, and a limited Titanium Gold Special Edition, the latter offering exclusive accessories and subtle aesthetic customisations.
Aimed primarily at street, travel, and documentary photographers, the L10 is built around a 20.4-megapixel sensor and an integrated Leica 24-75mm F1.7–2.8 lens.
A manual aperture ring provides the physical control that retro enthusiasts crave. Rather than bogging users down with excessive technical menus, Panasonic have tried to focus on the shooting experience. A unique multi-aspect sensor design allows photographers to switch between 4:3, 3:2, and 16:9 formats while maintaining the exact same angle of view.
Further leaning into the straight-out-of-camera aesthetic popularised by its competitors, the L10 introduces two new film-inspired colour profiles: L.Classic and L.ClassicGold. Additionally, the camera supports Real Time LUTs, enabling users to apply custom colour grading while shooting or generate new looks using the companion LUMIX Lab smartphone app.
Rounding out the L10 is a modern phase-hybrid autofocus system, an OLED viewfinder, and an adjustable monitor for flexible framing. By prioritising intuitive design, manual controls, and film-like colour science over bloated technical specifications, Panasonic has crafted a compelling option for photographers embracing the premium compact revival.
