Godox has just expanded its popular Litemons lineup with the introduction of the LE series, a new range of reasonably price, high-output, bi-colour COB LED lights – all without the customary (and annoying) 'power-brick'. The previous models were the 'LA' series released in July 2024.
For the modern hybrid shooter juggling both stills and video, these lights offer a seamless, unified solution. They eliminate the need for separate lighting kits, providing powerful and consistent illumination for any project, be it a photoshoot or a film set. For stills, you have the added bonus of WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) instead of having to use lightmeters to judge your strobe lighting ratios and exposures.
Aimed at bridging the gap between entry-level and high-end professional lighting, the series launches with three models: the LE200Bi, LE300Bi, and the flagship LE600Bi. These lights are designed to provide content creators, indie filmmakers, and studio photographers with robust, versatile, and accessible lighting tools capable of handling demanding creative scenarios.

A standout feature of the new Litemons LE series is that you can now get bi-colour at a greater output than competitors daylight-only LEDs (at a similar wattage). For example, the Godox Litemons LE200Bi is rated at 57,700 lux @ 1m, while the Aputure Amaran 200dS (daylight 5600k only) is rated at 55,800 lux @ 1m.
Previously, creators faced a compromise with LED lighting, as most lights come in a 'daylight' and a bi-colour (adjustable white balance) version. A 200W daylight-only fixture would deliver maximum brightness, while its 200W bi-colour counterpart was often up to half a stop / approx 10,000 lux dimmer due to the power split between its warm and cool emitters.
Admittedly, Godox has added an extra 20W to the power to each version of these lights, for example, the 200W light is actually 220W – though the lights retain the same form factor as a typical 200W light.

All three Litemons LE models allow users to seamlessly adjust the colour temperature from a warm 2800K tungsten to a crisp 6500K daylight – with the similar output of daylight only lights.
Godox has ensured that power does not come at the expense of quality. The LE series boasts high (colour rendering index) and TLCI (television lighting consistency index) rating of 98, guaranteeing that colours are rendered faithfully and skin tones appear natural and vibrant.
This level of accuracy is vital for professional video and photo work, minimising time spent on colour correction in post-production. The lights also come pre-programmed with a variety of special lighting effects, such as flash, storm, and broken bulb, providing creators with dynamic tools to enhance their storytelling.
No more power brick
In early model LEDs, an often large, heavy power-brick was included in the power cable system. Just when you've thought you've packed your three lights away, you look down and realise your three power-bricks with cords occupy the space of another light – *sigh*. Well sigh no more, these lights don't need the power-brick!
Designed for the rigours of studio and on-location shoots, the LE series features a durable build and user-friendly ergonomics. The inclusion of the industry-standard Bowens mount is a major advantage, granting users access to a vast ecosystem of light modifiers like softboxes, reflectors, and snoots from Godox and other manufacturers.
Control is streamlined and modern. While adjustments can be made directly on the clear LCD panel at the back of the unit, the real convenience lies in its wireless capability. Integrated Bluetooth connectivity allows for full control via the Godox Light app, available for both iOS and Android. This enables users to adjust brightness, colour temperature, and special effects from their smartphone, a feature that is invaluable when lights are mounted in hard-to-reach places.

The lights are currently available for pre-order. No stock arrival date has been revealed as yet.
