Australia's photography and content creation community is losing one of its biggest industry events, with the team behind FRMEFEST announcing the festival will not continue.

The organisers confirmed the decision in a statement, describing it as one reached "after careful consideration" and marking the end of what they called the "FRMEFEST journey."

Launched to bring together photographers, filmmakers and content creators, FRMEFEST established itself as one of Australia's largest creative industry gatherings, attracting attendees for talks, workshops, exhibitions and networking opportunities.

The festival's most recent event took place in Sydney in July 2025, and featured a lineup of speakers, brands and creators from across the imaging industry, with support from many of the major imaging brands in Australia.

In its farewell message, the FRMEFEST team reflected on the event's growth and impact.

"What started as an ambitious idea to bring together Australia's photography, filmmaking and content creation communities grew into something far greater than we could have imagined," the statement said.

The organisers said the event had become "a platform for connection, education, inspiration and collaboration," crediting sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, suppliers and advocates for helping build the festival.

"Together, we created one of Australia's most significant gatherings for photographers, filmmakers and content creators," the organisers said.
