DJI has expanded its compact cinema lineup down under with the official Australian release of the Osmo Pocket 4P Pearl White Edition. The standard black version was announced in July this year.
While many content creators use either their phone, or a phone with a gimbal, the Osmo Pocket 4P has been popular for bridging the gap between phone (where messages can interrupt your shooting) and dedicated (and much heavier) mirrorless cameras.
The recently released Osmo Pocket 4P is interesting in that it uses 'professional-tier' dual-lens imaging, with its sleek design directly aimed at lifestyle photographers, travel documentarians, and mobile content creators seeking 'cinema-grade' performance – without the pain of lugging heavier camera bodies, and in this case, a couple of lenses.
Dual Optics and 17 Stops of Dynamic Range
At the core of the Osmo Pocket 4P is a dual-lens architecture engineered to cover wide establishing shots and tight portraits:
-
Primary 20mm Wide-Angle: Houses an all-new 1-inch CMOS sensor paired with an f/2.0 aperture. Leveraging Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor (LOFIC) sensor architecture, it delivers a claimed 17 stops of dynamic range – an envelope engineered to retain specular highlights and deep shadow detail in harsh contrast or strong backlight.
-
Secondary 60mm Medium-Telephoto: Features an f/1.8 optical formulation (providing an f/6.3 full-frame depth-of-field equivalent) with 3× optical reach and hybrid zoom capability stretching out to 12× for isolated framing and compression.
Both optics feed into DJI’s upgraded 10-bit D-Log 2 colour profile, capturing more than one billion colours for tonal graduation in post-production grading suites.
Frame Rates, Stills, and Intelligent Workflow
Despite its compact 230-gram footprint and integrated three-axis mechanical gimbal, the Pocket 4P delivers high-frame-rate recording tops out at 4K at up to 240 fps, yielding 8× ultra-HD slow-motion playback.
For hybrid shooters working across photo and video briefs, the device captures up to 37-megapixel high-resolution stills, complete with a 4K Live Photo mode that buffers a 1.5-second cinema clip around each shutter release.
Workflow enhancements include:
-
ActiveTrack 8.0: Advanced subject recognition trained to track people, moving vehicles, domestic pets, and rapid movement across complex backgrounds.
-
High-Speed Offload: USB 3.1 architecture supporting data transfer rates up to 800 MB/s.
-
Auto Media Transfer for iOS: Automatically offloads newly captured files directly to compatible iOS devices upon power-down (designed for iPhone 16 series or later running iOS 26.4.1+ with battery levels exceeding 15%).
-
Rapid Charge Cycles: Up to 210 minutes of operational runtime on a full charge, backed by fast-charging architecture that restores 0–80% battery capacity in approximately 18 minutes.

Ecosystem Integration
The Pearl White edition maintains full modular compatibility across DJI’s accessory ecosystem. Creators can pair the unit with matching white edition hardware – including the clip-on fill light, wrist strap, and 1/4-inch threaded base mount – alongside magnetic neutral density (ND) sets, circular polarisers, wide-angle lens converters, and OsmoAudio wireless microphone systems.
Australian Pricing and Availability
The DJI Osmo Pocket 4P Pearl White Standard Combo is available now across Australia via the official DJI online store and authorised photographic retailers at an RRP of $959.00
