Centre for Contemporary Photography (CCP) is having an EOFY supporter drive

For over three decades, the Centre for Contemporary Photography has been a vital part of Australia’s photographic landscape — a space where image-makers, thinkers, and the public converge to explore the power and potential of contemporary photography. Now, CCP is on the brink of an exciting new chapter: finding a permanent home in Naarm/Melbourne.

Behind the scenes, CCP’s dedicated staff and board have been working tirelessly to secure a space that will not only house the organisation but also expand its capacity to serve artists, photographers, and the broader community.

While an official announcement is on the horizon, the goal is clear — to create a long-term, purpose-built home that ensures CCP can do more than ever before: more exhibitions, more public programs, more opportunities for photographers at every stage of their careers.

Why Your Support Matters

In 2025 alone, CCP has continued to claw its way back from the abyss — partnering with organisations such as Agency Projects, Maribyrnong City Council, Perimeter Editions, and RMIT Gallery to produce bold, thoughtful exhibitions and dynamic public outcomes.

But now it's time to get support from the photographic community and general public.

As a not-for-profit, CCP relies on donations to fund the programs that directly benefit photographers — from paying artist fees and commissioning new work, to producing publications and creating meaningful collaborations with host venues and communities.

Sydney saw the slow, sad decline of the Australian Centre of Photography (ACP) – and we can't stand to lose another rare community establishment.

Here’s How You Can Help

With the end of financial year approaching, the photo community can help shape CCP’s future.

A tax-deductible donation before 30 June will help aid with:

  • Delivering a vibrant slate of public programs, exhibitions, and publications in 2025 and beyond

  • Secure and sustain a new, permanent home for the CCP — one that supports long-term artistic and community outcomes

  • Support photographers directly through fees, production costs, and opportunities to present new work to diverse audiences

So whether it’s $20 or $1,000, every contribution makes a difference. Donations over $2 are tax-deductible.

To donate, simply visit their website and choose the amount that’s right for you. Your support ensures CCP remains a cornerstone of photographic culture in Australia — for artists today, and hopefully for generations to come.

You can make a donation through the CCP website here.
