Newett says that each bar had its own nuances, and the lack of space was a real challenge. At one point, he also had to manage a huge block of ice sitting on the bar. “It was dripping and sliding all over the place while we were smashing into it and trying to capture the bits flying off,” he recalls.

  • After all the hard work, the team got to sample the creations. Newett’s personal favourite was Max Greco’s Bloody Mary variation Lucy Maria. But despite the hazards of confined spaces and flying ice shards, Newett says the technical difficulties were his favourite aspect of the job. “This was one of the best campaigns I've done. Big production, big stress. But the older I get, the more I like it. You really get to use your skills as a photographer, which is great.”
