Adelaide-based Molly Harris is fascinated with the worlds of people who live
unconventional or taboo lifestyles and aims to provide an insight into a world
that people don’t normally get the chance to see. For her, it’s a desire to
experience and understand things she doesn’t know that inspires her work.

“Some of the strongest work mixed different types of images,
but held a narrative that engaged me.”
<br/><br/>
“It is important, at this stage, to demonstrate your dedication
and commitment to making images, to take risks, and to trust
in your own abilities. Not trying to do too much with your
photographs is sometimes what can lead to beautiful and
rigorous outcomes.”
<br/><br/>
“What brought a portfolio down was when photographers’
selected images didn’t work well together. When you enter a
competition like this, you have to look at the body of work,
not individual images that you stick together, to prove you
are an all rounder.”

JUDGES<br/>
Daniel Boetker-Smith, Earle Bridger, Sally Brownbill,
William Long, Joel Rainford, Chris Tovo.

Category prize: A Lowepro Pro Trekker 400 AW
backpack valued at $425.
